The historic centre of Lucca with its ancient Renaissance city walls
— Location —

Just outside the walls, steps from everything

Giada Palace is located just outside the city walls, in the first outskirts of Lucca, in the Lucca Est neighbourhood. The property offers free private parking, a rare convenience for visitors arriving by car. Just fifty metres from the property you will find the city bus stop, which takes you directly to Porta Elisa in minutes.

Compared to a hotel in the historic centre, Giada Palace offers peace and quiet, space, and quick access to the main attractions without the traffic of restricted traffic zones.

Top attractions

The Renaissance City Walls

Four kilometres of intact 16th-century walls, walkable and cyclable at every level. The walk along the ramparts offers a unique perspective on the city and the tree-lined avenues below. The most convenient starting point from Giada Palace is Porta Elisa, reachable by bus or 15 minutes on foot.

Piazza dell'Anfiteatro

A perfect ellipse built on the foundations of a 2nd-century Roman amphitheatre. The medieval houses still follow the outline of the ancient arena. Today it is the heart of city life: cafés, restaurants and a local market fill the arcaded square throughout the day.

Torre Guinigi

The medieval tower of the Guinigi family is famous for the rooftop garden of ancient holm oaks growing 44 metres above street level. From the terrace you get a panoramic view of the entire city and the Apuan Alps on clear days.
